Before the Show

Ten Years Ago:

  • Herbert Longinus is convicted of terrorism for bombing government buildings on Gemenon. While in prison, he develops the Savior Religion, a monotheistic cult that spreads into the general population.

One Year Ago:

  • Lt. Kenneth Durrance, lover of Col. Mary Ricken, is killed in a bar fight by Red Cranford. Cranford is demoted, but cleared of murder charges.

Before the bomb

MINISERIES BEGINS

Aboard Daedalus:

  • Director Jeff Akre found dead in a cargo bay, an investigation is started, but fails to find anything conclusive (though Dr. Kaige was nearby at the time)
  • While examining the body, Dr. Dorrie Kaige attempts to seduce the new Director, Leland Otis.

In Orbit around Scorpia:

  • Battlestar Promethea docked in Scorpion shipyards for upgrade to new Command Navigation System.
  • Battlestar Pegasus arrives for maintenance. Admiral Cain briefly visits Commander Titus, then speaks with Colonel Ricken.
  • Promethea leaves Scorpia orbit. Its mission: escort the re-supply ships Aerilon Sun and (?) to Daedalus Station.

Aboard Aerilon Sun:

  • Michelle Otis sets off towards Daedalus with divorce papers for Lee Otis, on the way she begins an affair with Gaylen Navarro.
  • Gaylen is traveling to Daedalus station to work as a lab assistant for Dr. Sterenger. Gaylen's mother, Susan Navarro, is SysAdmin? on the station.

In the Nebula:

  • Promethea arrives and begins resupply. Civilians disembark to station. Commander Titus and some Promethea crew meet with Daedalus researchers, who are "simple science folk." smile
  • Cylons appear outside the Nebula. Vipers sent to attack are disabled by CNP virus. Among the casualties is Captain Donald "Jetstream" Lawson, Promethea's CAG.
  • Cylons board Daedalus. One of the resupply ships is destroyed. Titus collects a trophy: the head of a Cylon Centurion. No one knows exactly how.
  • Colonial forces discover that CNP virus doesn't work inside nebula, and repulse Cylon attack.
  • A "dead" Cylon Raider is captured and brought to Promethea for study.
  • Several refugee ships begin to arrive, including the Horn of Tauron, carrying Thea Mason, wife of Tauron Quorum Rep., and their daughter Tammy.
  • Prisoner transport ship Janus arrives; Herbert Longinus and Dr. Emilio Santos are the only survivors.
  • Daedalus is evacuated, and a bomb is planted onboard.
  • Lee and Mechelle Otis and children evacuated to Horn of Tauron. Lee starts on path to becoming Thea Mason's assistant.
  • During evacuation, Dr. Dorrie Kaige is found trying to smuggle equipment off. She attacks some of the escaping player characters, and seems to be unhinged, working with the Cylons, or both. She is finally subdued and brought to Promethea.
  • Second Cylon attack. Promethea draws Basestar into Nebula and explodes bomb, destroying Daedalus and basestar.

After the bomb

  • Broadcasts recieved detailing massive Cylon attack, destruction of Colonies.
  • Promethea recieves signal that Battlestar Galactica is gathering survivors at Ragnar Anchorage.
  • Scout ships see an overwhelming Cylon force attack Galactica. Galactica disappears under a hail of missles and is presumed destroyed.

  • Dorrie Kaige put under arrest and medical observation, as her skin has turned blue.

  • Susan Navarro examines the CNP software and identifies the Cylon virus. Promethea systems are adjusted.
  • Dr. Sterenger also examines the Nebula's interference on Cylon communications, and the communications bands are identified. He works with Promethea specialist Johnson to create a monitor for those transmissions.

  • Tammy Mason points out that Tauron law makes Thea the new Quorum Representative from Tauron.

Scene: A figure in shadow sits with two quarter-circle tables at either side. On each table are six devices, glowing with a familiar red light. Voices issue from the devices - voices that sound like ante-bellum Cylons:

Voice 1: "Number four has failed."

Figure: "Did she recognize number thirteen?"

Voice 2: "Unknown."

Voice 3: "She is aboard Promethea."

Figure: "She's not the only one."

Voice 4: "Galactica may have survived."

Figure: "The Twelve can deal with Galactica." lights an old-style straight match "The other is my concern now."

Voice 2: "What is his plan?"

Figure: "To find us." lights a cigar "He has taken too much. Promethea will be stopped before he takes any more."

The figure brings the match close to his face, and we recognize a man who looks just like Commander Titus. He blows out the match.

Voices: "By your command, Imperious Leader."

MINISERIES ENDS

  • Gethsemane evacuated. During evacuation, strike team including Sgt. Red Cranford arrests Longinus on Titus' orders.
  • During transport on a Raptor back to Promethea, Cranford strikes Lee Otis.
  • Thea Mason, Lee Otis, and Shane Darago (acting as military representative) visit Haephestus. The Captain, Boregard "Buck" Lucas, takes pains to show he is solidly behind Thea and the civilian government. He also "gifts" her with a replacement jump core for the Gethsemane.
  • Cylons attack. Gethsemene's new core installed just in time, but Chief Vance is injured in the effort.

  • Flying patrol, Paladin finds a group of abandoned ships dead in space.
  • Lieutanant Aaron "Stallion" Vance is aboard with refugees. He tells the story of how Pegasus survived, but Admiral Cain is abandoning "nonessential" survivors she comes across, stripping their ships and saving only "useful" people. Stallion stayed rather than abandon these people.

  • In a flashback, Longinus recalls witnessing his grandfather's suicide.
  • Longinus, now in Promethea's brig, is interviewed by Colonel Ricken. They share a secret. Titus arrives, and Longinus realizes his grandfather looked a whole lot like Titus...

  • Titus interrogates Susan Navarro. He seems to know a lot about her secret background, and may have some connection to her parents, who were killed by Cylons. At one point he calls her "Suzanne Adama."
  • Intercepted Cylon transmission turns out to be the memory of Dorrie Kaige. Titus assigns Susan Navarro to investigate, and a computer hooked up to the box is installed in her quarters, which are guarded. * Over the course of several weeks, Susan speaks with the virtual Dorrie. Dorrie indicates that Susan's computer programs feel "familiar."
  • Even when the computer is shut off and disconnected from power, Susan starts hearing snatches of music and lullabyes.

  • Due to protests, from, among others, Mechelle Otis, her mother Lady Polykarpos, and Tammy Mason, Longinus' case is reviewed.
  • A judge brought in to review the case finds that Longinus has already stood trial and cannot be tried again. Rather than set up a new prison ship, Titus reluctantly releases Longinus.

  • Cranford uses his black market contacts to track down traces of someone collecting material to build a bomb. This reveals a major player in the criminal underground, a Mr. Stavros.

  • During an examination by Dr. Gentry, Mechelle Otis discovers she is pregnant with Gaylen's child. She shares the news with Gaylen and Lady Polykarpos.

  • A bomb destroys the Tyllium ship Sag 4.

  • Sterenger and Johnson successfully work on jamming Cylon frequencies. They can now completely shut down communications on one Cylon ship using Promethea's communications array; or blanket a large aread using the gas mechanism that Sterenger has developed.

  • Dr. Santos visits Gaylen. Gaylen flashes back to seeing Dr. Santos in a hospital, and remembers him saying that "I must restore the memory blocks. The others are planning something bad. You must forget, and hide. Take the job on your mother's space station."
  • Santos congratulates Gaylen and says he must be the attending physician on Mechelle's pregnancy.
  • Santos also mutters, " No hay Dios pero Dios, y Longinus es su profeta. "

  • While Ricken and Longinus meet, they are visited by Magdalena Rabanastre, aide to Quorum representative from Saggitaron.
  • Magdalena draws a pisol, holding the two hostage.
  • Magdalena instructs Longinus to open her briefcase, which contains " LoveLetters " to Longinus and a bomb.
  • Magdalena explains that she bombed the Sag 4, and plans to use Longinus' death to sow discord in the fleet. She also claims to have planted evidence of Ricken's collusion with Longinus.
  • Corporal Tonya Kiel interrups and distracts Magdalena. They are able to overpower her. However, the bomb cannot be defused, and after they evacuate, it destroys the room.

  • Investigating the incident, Lieutenant Boreas discovers some materials for the bomb came from the Aerolon Sun - and cargo that was marked for delivery to Dorrie Kaige.

  • Gaylen Navarro has been researching Dorrie Kaige's death along with Dr. Sterenger and Dr. Gentry. He discovers why Kaige's skin turned blue: exposure to soliton gas interacted with syntheic elements in her Cylon epidermis.
  • Gaylen usues this knowledge to make a Cylon detector. He tests himself; and tests positive.
  • Gaylen allows Dr. Gentry to take credit for creating Cylon detector.
  • Testing begins, starting with flag officers like Titus, Ricken and Boreas. No other positives so far. Gaylen keeps his results to himself.

  • Lieutenant Hermes pressures Chief Vance to integrate captured Cylon technology into the Colonial fleet, specifically to make a Cylon jump drive work in a Viper.
  • During one test, an electrical discharge injures Admiral Titus. Colonel Ricken dresses down Chief Vance, and their relationship cools.

  • Election is held to determine representatives for a new Quorum of Twelve. (See list at http://www.lightfootonline.com//Chris/Battlestar/Promethea%20Quorum.htm.)
  • In a hotly contested and acrimonious race, Herbert Longinus is elected Gemenon representative over a conservative religious leader. Divisions deepen between those followers of the Savior religion and those who follow the ways of the Gods.
  • Lieutenant Shane Darago is elected representative from Aquaria and resigns his comission.

  • In order to replace their Tylium stores and processing ship, the Promethea attacks a mining installation on Thetis, a moon of Picon.
  • The raid is successful, partially due to jamming techniques developed from the knowledge of Cylon communication. Attacking in concert, Promethea and Haephestus manage to destroy the Cylon Basestar patrolling Picon.
  • A rescued pilot from the mine, Mike Barada, is revealed to be a Cylon and is killed.

  • Councilor Shane Darago speaks to other Quorum members about setting up a fleet police force. He experiences a vision: A figure in a space suit looks up at the stars. The figure is in a bowl canyon rimed with frost. It is Paladin, in his Raptor space suit. He stands in the middle of a wide stream that, impossibly, flows out in both directions, up the sides of the canyon. Surrounding Paladin is a ring of twelve stones; they seem to echo his conversations with the Quorum members. The sun is high above and far away. The stars are bright, without atmospheric interference, and their positions are fixed so clearly in Paladin's mind that he feels he could enter these coordinates and Jump there easily.

  • Thea Mason discovers Tammy has built up debt with Mr. Stavros. Stavros is known as a shady character sometimes connected with Councilor James Karakova of Canceron.
  • Thea asks Captain Lucas to intervene. It turns out the Jump core that Lucas secured for the Gethsemane was obtained through Stavros.
  • Stavros says that he will forgive Tammy's debts and the acquisition of the Jump core - but Thea and Lucas both owe him a favor.

  • Lee Otis kidnaps his daughter Aleyka, desperate for some sense of family. He takes her to Shane Darago because she is having prophetic visions.
  • On the trip, Aleyka says she has a message from the gods for him: You cannot lose that which you never had. And to gain it, you must forfeit everything else. "Does that make any sense, Daddy?"
  • The Otis' arrive and Darago is awakened. They have a late dinner. It appears Aleyka is an Oracle of the Gods.
  • Aleyka seems to know of Darago's vision, and she tells him: Seek the first soil and you will understand.

  • Admiral Titus speaks to Thea Mason, telling her that there is a large cache of weapons ordinance located in the system's cometary cloud. He did not pursue it before due to fuel concerns; now they have sufficient fuel for this important acquisition. Thea agrees to the plan.
  • After the jump to the cloud, Darago feels a sense of deja vu, as if he is near the location of his vision.
  • Titus leads a team to an asteroid, which has an airlock entrance.
  • Titus unlocks and pressurizes the chamber beyond, which is a control room.
  • Windows open to a dark, cavernous vastness beyond the control room. Titus speaks: "Re-initialization code Titus-four-seven-black-Zarathusa-enable."
  • The darkness comes alive with hundreds of oscillating red lights as row afer row of ante-bellum Cylons (Model 005 Centurions) activate. They speak in one voice: "By your command."

SEASON ONE ENDS

Not sure where this stuff goes

  • At some point Titus is knocked out or something while Ricken is on a raptor going to look at another ship. I think there is a battle during this time, though I'm not sure - Ben
