Where is everyone?

I think Andi has a list, but, I believe:

Character Location
Gizette Candent
Durus Retreating with the Amber army, wounded
Thomas In shadow with Eric
Sakura Candent
Solomon Candent
Aife Candent, wounded

Also in Candent:

  • Gerard (what's left)
  • Benedict (severly wounded)
  • Bleys
  • Julian
  • Dierdre (a little wounded, but fine)
  • Caine
  • Elison (still dead)

Anyone else?

In the Retreat!

Thanks for the great gaming session, Ben. I am interested in finding out how the retreat is going, how Brand and Fiona are doing, etc. If you're up for it, I'd like to start a thread dealing with these issues. If everyone wants to wait and handle everything in the next FTF session, I'm okay with that, too.

-- ChrisLightfoot - 25 Jun 2007

I'm ok with moving forward on the wiki, I think Mike was more worried about people being left behind because they don't check it, but I think we can try to strike the right balance...

Brand and Fiona... They will no longer be with the army, and instead will have disappeared, as you question the soldiers that saw the event, it will eventually become apparent that Aife's sword struck true, and Brand was hit. The soliders aren't sure how badly he was wounded, but very soon after the sword struck him, Fiona quit whatever she was doing and trumped them both out.

This information is actually difficult to obtain because Aife's force is, in the absence of leadership, charging after the Army of Amber, and is all your force can do to prevent them from breaking through the retreating formation and really destroying this force.

-- BenBernard - 25 Jun 2007

Durus is very cross. He will do some creative shadow-shifting, picking a path that leads through shadows that are about to experience a calamity, and timing it so the calamity disaster happens right after his forces leave: like walking through Pompeii just before it blows, down the beach just before the tsunami, so that if the forces follow, they get a nasty surprise.

Then, as time allows, he will - take a drink! - Trump Gizette, to see if someone can call off the pursuing army.

-- ChrisLightfoot - 26 Jun 2007

Gerard's force has no leadership, and no way to move through shadow. They follow your path for a few turns but you lose them soon enough. There is definitely time for a drink and a trump call... You're feeling pretty bad, your shoulder is a ruined mass of flesh, bone, and armor, and in the fighting you've sustained enough damage to kill a lesser man.

-- BenBernard - 26 Jun 2007

Durus will pick an able warrior and put him in charge, and leave the army in a safe shadow. Then he will use his place Trump of Amber to return, and summon physicians. (Leslie has a few things to take care of before the Trump call, so I figure Gizette is holding off the call until she's ready.)

-- ChrisLightfoot - 26 Jun 2007

Oh, by the way, did anyone come up with Benedict's sword during all this?

-- ChrisLightfoot - 26 Jun 2007

Don't those types of things just turn up in the back seat later on?

-- GhenkiTseng - 26 Jun 2007

Helioventar is returned to the castle in fairly short order. Physicians come and tend to you. The wound is infected in some way, and you think it might be growing, not shrinking. The doctors don't really know what to do about it; family members never get infected...

-- BenBernard - 27 Jun 2007

When he is alone, Durus will pick up Helioventar and examine it. Then set it on a table - and actually talk to it. "Sword, if you are also the Messenger of the Unicorn, speak to me now," he says. Or I will feel very foolish, he thinks to himself.

Candent Colaborators

(OOC - I really don't want to over-run anyone, but I also don't want to hang Chris out for tooo long. So here is Gizette's agenda - 1) Ask the House to move Benedict's time-slowed niche somewhere deep and secure with only Gizette herself able to retrieve it, 2) time-slow Elison's niche and 3) drag Julian over to the Sakurerard mess (as he is the one most familiar with both of them), psychically link everybody and see if we can untwine the ick with my and Sakura's Ad SS.

-- LeslieLightfoot - 26 Jun 2007

Benedict's wound is incredibly bad (see Durus' description), and you're not sure that slow time is going to cut it, you need an expert. The house complies with both of your requests. Once you and Julian form a connection to Sakurard you find out that things are not well. Gerard is fighting for his life, and getting in the way in the process, as his mind desperately claws for every ounce of power it can get. Sakura is holding him off, easily, but its a distraction she can ill afford. Her body is rejecting this unholy union between her and Gerard.

-- BenBernard - 27 Jun 2007

Ooooh. Poor family. frown

Okay, Gizette will see if Julian can 'hold' the clawing, desperate Gerard, thus allowing Sakura to do what she needs to do. Gizette herself will concentrate on using her Ad SS to get the head hooked back to the body and the wound sealed up. (We may end up sticking Gerard's neck into the Sakurard mess in order to get the two lined up. :-P )

If Benedict is dying more slowly than Gerard... sheesh, for right now we'll call that a win. Unless one of my brothers has any idea beyond 'let's stab him.'

-- LeslieLightfoot - 28 Jun 2007

"...Let's stab him...", says Aife as she rolls over in her sleep.
